Manuscript leaf from Candidum Puritatis Lilium
A leaflet from a Latin Manuscript entitled Candidum Puritatis Lilium. It was written by Julianus Antonius a Jaurigui in Guatemala and was "most worthily consecrated" to D. Aloysius Gonzaga. The calligraphy used appears, at first glance, to be very modern; though with a closer inspection abbreviations are apparent. The recto side is marked as 324; the verso side is marked as 325.

Nuremberg Chronicle leaf, 1493
From the "Nüremburg Chronicle". It was printed in Nüremburg by Anton Koberger in 1493. The "Nüremburg Chronicle" contained over 300 leaves and about 1,900 woodcuts. The type is a modified Gothic that was commonly used with the Nüremburg printers. This ambitious publishing feat is known as the Picture Book of the Fifteenth Century. The recto side of the leaf is marked CCXXII in the upper right hand corner; the verso side is unmarked.
